Lack of Containers Worldwide in Q4 2020

Even though Thailand strongly exports their quality products during post COVID-19 from Q3 2020, the lack of cargo containers in Q4 2020 can be harmful to business consistency with global partners.

The main reason is the case of not having enough empty containers for exporters. Since there have been fewer imports from exporting countries during COVID-19 pandemic, which are far fewer than the numbers they export, container numbers are in ‘imbalance’ condition.

From above reasons, importers might have to face such a new challenge – not only freight prices have been the highest in history, but containers are also not enough as well. Anyway, it is estimated that the situation will be normal again after March 2021, or possibly sooner if the COVID vaccine is effective, which is a good news for everyone in this hard time.
